About Youth Leaders

Youth Leaders are a cohort of stipend high schoolers (grades 9-12), who meet throughout the year to learn, develop their relationships, and grow stronger as community organizers.

Youth Leaders participate in ARISE political education, leadership, and organizing workshops once a week, as well as campaign planning meetings with partnered organizations once a week. They are expected to perform community outreach to recruit students to ARISE programming, as well as to ensure that campaign work centers the voices of Southeast Asian and other impacted youth. Youth Leaders will receive a monthly stipend in recognition of their work.

About Junior Flames

This year-long student-centered leadership, academic and social-personal development program is grounded in solidarity, justice, love, community, intergenerational, intersectional and multi-racial activism. Junior Flames will meet once a week, for 1.5-2 hours, to engage in interactive, student-centered, and student-led discussions, reading, writing, and peer dialogue exchange to identify themes and concepts that will promote social consciousness, enhanced academic, personal growth, and empowerment through an anti-racist lens.

We will be building trusting relationships, learning together, and implementing what we learn in productive ways. We want to provide opportunities for young people to grow in being aware of themselves, create societal awareness, and develop the skills necessary to navigate life.

Each participant will be stipend for this position.
